Every Minute Is A Battle: Words To Win The War to Get Positive

by Eli Davidson

If you are reading this, you are smart and savvy. You are on the cutting edge. You already know about the powerful impact language has on the results you create.

The N Word
What sector is hiring the most new employees in the US right now? Technology? Manufacturing? Financial Services? Nope.

National Public Radio recently reported that collection agencies have the highest growth in new hires. How could that be? Consumer debt is at an all time. Why? People have confused two four letter words.

Giving: Perscription for Better Health

by Eli Davidson

“You have got to be out of your mind” was a sentence Isabella was getting used to hearing. Friend after friend rolled her eyes as she told them of her plans. Isabella was 80 years old, for God’s sake! No amount of eye rolling was going to dissuade her. Even if her friends were moving into assisted living facilities, she was going to build a new home in Montecito and give it to her favorite charity. No strings attached. Except that her gift remain anonymous.

What You Focus on is What You See

Justin Herald

What you see is what you get!

I was recently asked if I am a “half full” or “half empty” type of person with regards to the glass example. My reply was very short, sharp and to the point. I replied, “I just see the glass. It is up to me to either fill it or empty it”.
Whilst this may sound simplistic, you would be surprised to see how many people actually let their experiences, good or bad, affect their future direction.
Let me explain this point by telling you a story.

Trust Your Intuition

by Jan Marie Dore

This past year I made a significant transition in my life. I moved – across country. As I considered the many decisions I had to make, I frequently listened to my intuition and checked in with my feelings to guide me.

Everyone has latent intuition, and it is available to anyone willing to hear it – but the busyness, noise, and clutter in our lives often keep us from listening to our own inner voice.

No More Negative Self Talk!

by Nick Arrizza, M.D.

Negative self talk pertains to all those unwanted, intrusive negative thoughts that wander through one's mind almost every second of every day.

Their presence serves to distract, derail, defocus you and drain a great deal of your vital life energy, to name a few.

Many strategies have been proposed for ending the negative self talk i.e. Rational Emotive Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Hypnotherapy, NLP etc.

Human Sensibility

by Teow Aun Chew

Human sensibility is beyond the scope of space and time. It is not necessary to see or hear something ourselves before we believe or disbelieve it when people talk nonsense or exaggerate certain matters. We can use our wisdom or common sense to assess the matter judiciously. Nobody will believe that a certain man can fly and he is living in a cave deep in the jungle of Amazon. Our common sense will tell us that it is not possible but sometimes people tend to believe in fantasy and start searching for the flying man. He could just turn out to be a magician better than David Copperfield. But the world has a lot of mystical things unexplanable and beyond the knowledge of man.

A Plea for Positivity

by Grace Judson

I was handed a business card the other day by a young woman who does pedicures at a day spa. The name on the card was Judy Fantastic. "What a wonderful name!" I said in delight.

It turns out that Ms. Fantastic is using a nom de plume, so to speak (or, at least, a nom de nailpolish brush). With utter, disarming sincerity, she explained that she chose "fantastic" as her personal adjective because, she said with a huge smile, "I am fantastic!"

Positive Expectation = Profit

by Bill White

It's an interesting fact that would seem to border on the supernatural. Simply having a positive expectation can have a significant end result on your bottom line.

I have seen sales increase in my business by doing nothing more than writing higher sales estimates in my forecasts.

I have seen substantial pay raises in my positions for other companies by expecting to get them.

Self Esteem and Self Confidence - The Keys in your Pursuit of Happiness and your Goals

by Evert Farnell

I can't believe it. I was watching the news this morning and they had a segment on food allergies. They suggested making little card that you could give to waiters or waitresses that outline your food allergy because it is embarrassing to talk about it. WHAT! Why in the hel would it be embarrassing to talk about a food allergy?

The only reason is because the person with the allergy has no self-confidence or is just a wimp. I could not believe it. If you have a food allergy then it would seem that talking to a waiter, who is bringing you your food, would be a reasonable thing.

Life Purpose: Finding Meaning to your Life

by Douglas Woods

Have you ever wondered as to the meaning of life? Have you ever asked yourself why you are here? Do you ever feel your life lacks a purpose? If so, then you are not alone. Yet have you ever found an answer to these issues?

Questions such as these have been taxing even the brightest of minds for centuries and yet we still seem no nearer an answer that satisfies everyone. Philosophers, religious leaders, lifestyle gurus and politicians have each at various times pondered upon these issues and come up with an apparent answer. Their answers, though, have rarely been totally satisfactory and have often been more a way of bringing people round to their way of thinking rather than solving the deeper mystery of the meaning of life.

Voice Power-The Care and Feeding of the Professional Voice

by Diane DiResta

Voice Power-The Care and Feeding of the Professional Voice
By Diane DiResta

Whether it's the rich, resonant tones of Richard Burton, the breathiness of Marilyn Monroe or the nasality of Fran Drescher, the sound of the voice conjures up an image—an impression—and can influence perception.

"You should think
of the sound of your
voice as inhaling the
words and letting them
reflect in the space
behind you. Vowels
shape the voice.
You inhale the
sounds rather than
projecting them."
