Jnana Yoga & Bug-Free Beliefs

by Steve Pavlina

In Hinduism there are said to be several paths that lead to the cessation of human suffering. These are known as the four yogas: karma yoga (action, work, service), bhakti yoga (love, devotion, worship), raja yoga (meditation, mental control, “psychic” exercise), and jnana yoga (knowledge, philosophy, enquiry). No one yoga is better or worse than any other, but individuals will tend to find themselves drawn to one yoga more than the others.

Some Yoga DVDs to Help You Through Your Pregnancy

by Ian Byrd

Yoga For Your Pregnancy

A 45 minute DVD broken up into two segments, Yoga For Your Pregnancy, is designed to limber up women who are expecting a child and revitalize their energy level. Yoga Journal's DVD is great for beginners, featuring alternate poses for women who can't stretch, and doesn't expect you to be a Yoga guru.

The first section, entitled "Energizing and Stretching," is 30 minutes long and is designed to create strength and stamina. The goal is, of course, to prepare you for the intense efforts required during labor. It is also, however, meant to help you cope with your constantly changing body.

3 Miracles of Yoga and Meditation

by Jeff Smith

For those of you still considering the advantages of yoga and
meditation, let me share with you the incredible results I have
experienced since sticking to a yoga and meditation regime of
3 times for 40 minutes each week.

1. Digestion - Acid Reflux. I realize I am not alone in
experiencing the painful effects of poor digestion,
sometimes termed acid reflux. I used to keep Tums and
Rolaids antacids in business popping 6-8 just to get through a
typical night. This was my reality ever since I can remember
- even as a teennager. In fact, this condition ran in my
family - so I was resigned to never finding a treatment, let
alone a cure.

What is Yoga?

by Dayna Dias

What is Yoga?

Yoga is a science of health and spirituality that originated many thousands of years ago in India. The ancient yogis sought to harmonize the body, mind and soul in an effort to achieve health, long life, and ultimately, enlightenment. Thus, the Sanskrit word yoga means union with or to join. This union with the divine is achieved through the disciplined practice of specific exercises, meditation and breath work.

Beauty and Youthfulness

by Premansu Chand

In all ages, the endeavor of man has been to remain beautiful and youthful. For this he spends all his income in housing, food and dress. However as he gains age, nothing helps him in his endeavor to remain beautiful and youthful, diseaseless and ageless. This is because of thousands of years of ignorance, prejudice encoded in the mind.

Body is just like a burning flame. A flame exists and gives light so long as oil or wax burns. Fresh oil is drawn up into the flame and burnt out oil leaves the flame into the atmosphere. Similarly food, water and air enters into the body and used up and toxic materials leaves the body in the form of sweating, urine and stool. The body remains as burning flame giving beauty and youthfulness.
